Samatville Resort Posted by Hello

The beginning of our trek into town, We left the beach to explore. We started along the coast until we made it to the road. It was the road from hell. Posted by Hello

We got a ride from a pickup truck to finish our trek. The walk on the road at the top of the island was so hot, I couldn't even think of taking pictures. Sebastian was asking to go back to the United States. We were sweltering. The lotion ran down my forehead along with my sweat and burned my eyes. It was so hot. The beach is fine, but the interior away from the wind and water is like an oven.  Posted by Hello

After traveling in scourching heat of the interior of the island, and taking a short ride in the back of a pickup we finally made it to the small town, which has a 7-11. That's right. On Kol Samat island off the coast of Thailand we stopped to get slurpees from a 7-11. Posted by Hello

A slurpee never tasted so good. After eating so many different types of food, American food has become exotic. Posted by Hello

Another view of the small town on Kol Samat. Posted by Hello

Sebastian on the beach, and loving it. Notice the rock in back?Simon and I paddled to the large rock in the background. It is much farther than the eye would discern. We wanted to land on it, and explore, but when we got close it was full of large hairy tarantulas. We spun around quickly to head back. As we headed back, we overshot our beach. Therafter, we asked for directions and found our beach around the corner of a rock outcropping. It was a great experience. Posted by Hello

The kids loved our speed boat trip back to the mainland. Posted by Hello

The Thai love dried salty fish and shellfish. It's like chips for them. I wish I could say I tried them. Posted by Hello
